Mazda MX-5 engine options

The choice of two SKYACTIV-G petrol engines is available – a 1.5l 129bhp and a 2.0l 155bhp. Each has a six speed gear box that brings out the best in the Mazda MX-5. A counter balanced crankshaft and exhaust system help the smooth power train achieve a real appetite for revs that you come to expect from a MX-5 – up to 7,500rpm.

Ultimate performance

Renowned for its exceptional driving experience the MX-5 is now lighter using new technologies and materials whilst making it stronger – it is now more fun than ever.  The body is 20mm lower and 105mm shorter than the generation that it replaces, whilst the front and rear overhangs have been reduced by 90mm. Utilising Mazda’s innovated SKYACTIV technology and moving the engine behind the front axle and closer to the centre of the car sees weight reduced by more than 100kg.
