Lyndsey has successfully completed two of a three year AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification, while Shannon is about to embark on her second year on the same course.
Organised through Kaplan Financial, the UK’s leading financial accountancy and business training provider, the duo attend training sessions on a day release basis at the organisation’s site based in Newcastle.
Lyndsey, who originally qualified as a hairdresser after leaving school, has more than 12 years’ experience working in the motor industry. In the past, she has gained valuable experience working for a number of firms in accounts, as well as being a parts delivery driver.
Joining Jennings Ford Direct in 2015 as accounts assistant/purchase control, Lyndsey is responsible for all purchase ledger at the group’s South Shields, Gateshead and Washington dealerships, in addition to collating monthly invoices and arranging payments.
Lyndsey said; “I’m delighted to have been given this excellent opportunity to achieve additional qualifications in order to further progress my career in accountancy within the company.
“Being able to complete training on a day release basis is ideal, as it allows you to study and work at the same time, which is great.”
Shannon joined Jennings Motor Group in 2014 when she embarked on a one-year Apprenticeship programme with the aim to become an accounts administrator.
Throughout the Apprenticeship, Shannon trained in all areas of accountancy, including purchase ledger, credit control, banking, petty cash, in addition to month end and annual reports.
As a fully-fledged accounts administrator, Shannon is currently responsible for daily banking duties at the dealership.
Jennings Ford Direct sells quality approved used vehicles delivered direct from the manufacturer, in addition to offering a number of after sales facilities, including service, MOT and parts.
