A loyal and dedicated employee at JenningsFord Direct is proving that variety really is the spice of life, having taken on an additional role at the group’s South Shields dealership.
In addition to his current role as motability specialist, Ray Maitland, 46, from North Shields, has also taken on the role of deputy business manager at the Newcastle Road branch.
Working alongside the business manager, Ray will assist with all aspects of finance, including compiling tailor-made packages to suit individual needs of the customer.
Ray said; “Although my role as motability specialist will continue, I have agreed to take on the added responsibility of deputy business manager, a challenge I am very much looking forward to.”
In order to become qualified, Ray will attend a week-long training course in Loughborough, next month, where he will undertake a number of theory and practical examinations, which will be organised by Ford Motor Company.
Ray started working for Jennings 15 years ago when he joined the former Bridge Street branch in Morpeth as a parts representative. When the branch relocated to the former Coopies Lane dealership, Ray transferred to the sales department and started working as a motability specialist.
Six years ago, he transferred to the group’s Newcastle Road branch in South Shields to oversee the motability department. Since then, he has built a strong customer database and is currently responsible for providing a service to more than 370 motability customers across the region.
