It’s a case of history repeating itself for Lewis’s father, Kevin Warburton, 54, who also began his career as a sales executive with Jennings Motor Group 12 years ago. Over the years, Kevin, has been given the opportunity to work his way up the ranks to his current role of national fleet sales manager, which entails being responsible for fleet sales across the group’s Mitsubishi, Kia, Mazda and SEAT dealerships.
Delighted to have been given the opportunity to pursue the same career as his father, Lewis, said; “I have always wanted to work in a customer-facing roll, mainly because I’m very much a people person and enjoy meeting different people, but also because of my Dad and the success he has achieved through the many opportunities he has been given working for Jennings.”
The next two years will see Lewis gaining valuable on-the-job experience working within the busy sales department at the dealership, in addition to taking part in on-going weekly assessments and working towards achieving national vocational qualifications.
Lewis added; “The Apprenticeship programme appealed to me because it is allowing me to gain practical and valuable hands-on experience, in addition to giving me the opportunity to work towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications, as well as earning a wage.”
Welcoming Lewis on board, sales controller, Dave Horsley, said; “Lewis is very ambitious, keen to learn and has the right attributes to be successful in sales.”
After successfully achieving GCSE qualifications at Northallerton College, Lewis then went on to study at Middlesbrough College where he completed a one-year BTEC in Hardware Engineering.
For 12 months, he gained experience in sales working for a family business, prior to embarking on the Apprenticeship at Jennings Mitsubishi.
Jennings Motor Group is committed to training and developing staff and has many Apprentices gaining valuable experience working within the group’s sales, accounts, service and parts departments.
The Middlesbrough-based dealership sells the entire Mitsubishi model line-up, with everything from the Mirage, ASX and Outlander, to the Outlander Plug-in-Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), Shogun and L200 on display and available to test drive.
Customers who purchase a car at Jennings Mitsubishi can also take advantage of a number of aftersales facilities, including service, MOT, accident repair and parts.
