A young and ambitious school leaver is on the road to a successful career at Jennings Ford.
Carlton Murray, 16, from Blyth in Northumberland, has embarked on an Apprenticeship programme with the aim to become a fully fledged Ford approved motor technician at Jennings Ford’s Eslington Park dealership in Gateshead.
The Apprenticeship Programme, which is managed and co-ordinated by Ford automotive training provider, Skillnet, is a three-year programme which involves on the job training, in addition to on-going assessments and block release training at College.
Dedicated Carlton left Blyth Comprehensive School this summer and despite still awaiting his GCSE results, which are due towards the end of this month, he was keen to embark into the world of full-time employment.
Based at the Eslington Park dealership, Carlton will complete a three-year programme, which will include on-the-job training with fully qualified and experienced technicians, in addition to block release training at Gateshead College.
“I was delighted when I was told I had successfully secured a place at Jennings Ford,” said Carlton.
He added; “The Apprenticeship programme was the perfect choice for me as it will give me the opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience and at the same time allow me to work towards extra qualifications, which is great."
Delighted to welcome the dedicated youngster on board, Ian Stewart, service manager at Jennings Ford in Gateshead, said;
“The Ford Apprenticeship programme is an excellent opportunity for youngsters who are looking to take that first step on the career ladder.”
