An ambitious youngster from Gateshead is looking forward to a full-time career in mechanics and it’s all thanks to JenningsFord.
Tony Puntin, from Harlow Green, has just completed a three-year Apprenticeship programme at the group’s Eslington Park dealership in Gateshead.
For the past three years, the dedicated individual has been gaining practical ‘hands on’ experience working closely with qualified and experienced technicians with the service department, in addition to attending college on a block release basis.
With two NVQs under his belt, Tony has just completed his third and final level and is now regarded as a fully qualified technician.
Ian Stewart, service manager at JenningsFord in Gateshead, is delighted with the youngster’s progress, he said;
“Tony has worked exceptionally hard and is keen to learn. He is fully committed to the job and will undoubtedly continue to succeed in the future.”
Tony is one of four other apprentices that the JenningsFord dealership has either supported or is currently steering towards full-time employment within the service department.
Ian Thackray, 24, from Gateshead became a qualified technician in 2006, meanwhile, Gareth Dean, 18, from Burnopfield, and Scott Kettle, 17, from Gateshead, are currently in their second year of the three-year Apprenticeship programme.
Ian Stewart added; “We are full committed to training and developing our staff and fully support the Aprrenticeship programme, which not only allows youngsters to gain practical ‘on-the-job’ training, but also to achieve additional qualifications.”comments powered by
