Two ambitious youngsters are on the road to successful careers in accident repair and it’s all thanks to JenningsFord.
Jason Gordon, 23, from Dunston and John Gibson, 19, from Swalwell, are in the final year of a three-year Body Repair Technician Apprenticeship programme at JenningsFord’s Eslington Park dealership based in Gateshead.
For the past two years, the dedicated duo have been gaining practical ‘hands on’ experience working closely with qualified and experienced technicians within the bodyshop department, in addition to attending college on a day release basis.
Jason said; “The Apprenticeship is great because you’re able to gain invaluable practical experience and at the same time achieve additional qualifications. It really does offer the best of both worlds.”
With two NVQs already under their belt, the hard-working duo are looking forward to completing the Apprenticeship programme this year. Not only will they be regarded as fully qualified bodyshop repair technicians, but they will also be on the payroll full-time.
Looking forward to a successful future with JenningsFord, John said; “The course has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It’s great to have been given this excellent opportunity and to have a full-time job at the end of it makes it even more worthwhile.”
The theory side of the Apprenticeship has successfully been completed, there are just a number of on-going assessments to complete before Jason and John are presented with their final certificates.”
Andrew Fisher, bodyshop manager at JenningsFord in Gateshead, said; “Jason and John have worked extremely hard. They are both keen and committed individuals who will undoubtedly succeed in the future.”
