Ben embarks on final year of Apprenticeship Programme

An ambitious youngster from Middlesbrough is on track to a successful career with Jennings Motor Group.

19-year-old, Ben Hunt, is near to completing his final year of a three-year Apprenticeship Programme as a Parts Advisor at the Jennings Ford, Mazda and SEAT supersite on Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough.

After leaving Acklam Grange School in Middlesbrough at the age of 16, Ben was keen to gain practical hands-on experience, but at the same time he wanted to work towards achieving additional qualifications.

In 2008, he signed up for the Apprenticeship Programme and since then, has successfully achieved his NVQ Level 1 and Level 2 in Vehicle Parts Operations.

Ben said; “The Apprenticeship Programme was the perfect solution for me as it offered me the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience and at the same time work towards achieving extra qualifications, which is great.

“The fact that I have also been given the opportunity to gain my experience at a well known and long established company as Jennings, is an added bonus.

“I’m thoroughly enjoying the job and looking forward to hopefully furthering my career with the company in the future.”

Ben is looking forward to completing the Programme and achieving his Level 3 in September of this year, when he will become a fully fledged parts advisor.

Working as part of a six-strong team, Ben is currently responsible for taking telephone enquiries, liaising with customers and suppliers and ordering parts.

Kevin Gibbon, parts manager at the Middlesbrough supersite, said; “Ben is an asset to the team at Middlesbrough. He is keen to learn and a committed and conscientious individual who will pass his third and final level of the Apprenticeship Programme, with flying colours.”
