A charity raising funds to help the people affected by the floods in Pakistan, has received a welcome boost to its fundraising - thanks to a £1000 donation from car care supplier, Supagard.
Last year, Nas Khan, managing director of Jennings Motor Group, launched a fundraising appeal through his charity, The Emaan Foundation, with the aim to help save and rebuild lives following the humanitarian disaster which struck Pakistan.
The overall aim of the appeal is to raise £120K to build a village consisting of 60 homes for the people of Rahim Yar Khan, south of Punjab in Pakistan. The village will also provide livestock and a deep tube well for clean drinking water.
Towards the end of last year, the charity raised enough funds and achieved its first goal – to purchase life-saving water purifiers. The essential aid was dispatched directly to the people of Pakistan via respected aid organisation, Human Appeal International.
The latest £1000 donation from Glasgow-based Supagard, has boosted funds over the £60K mark on the fundraising barometer.
An official cheque presentation took place at JenningsFord’s Cargo Fleet Lane dealership in Middlesbrough, where Nas Khan, received the cheque from Supagard representative, Paul Connaughton.
Nas said; “I am delighted to receive the cheque on behalf of The Emaan Foundation and would like to thank Supagard for their generous donation.
“The response and support we have received since the launch, has been absolutely amazing and I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their generosity.”
The latest money-spinning events, which are expected to boost funds further towards the fundraising target, include a raffle to win a brand new car and a Spring dinner dance.
300 tickets for the Ka raffle have been printed and at a cost of £50 per ticket, one lucky winner will be presented with the key to a brand new Ford Ka, worth more than £9,000.
A Spring Dinner Dance will be taking place on Friday 8 April, at the Sporting Lodge in Stainton Village, Middlesbrough, with Motown Tribute Act, starring Scott Bench Taylor. Tickets cost £25.
