A number of avid golfers teed-off with Jennings Motor Group – and raised a grand total of £3,012 for Teenage Cancer Trust in the North East.
48 golfers, consisting of members of staff from Jennings Motor Group, as well as the company’s business suppliers, enjoyed an afternoon of birdies, bogies and eagles at Teesside Golf Club on Acklam Road in Thornaby, Stockton, and it was all to help raise funds for the motor dealer group’s chosen charity for 2018.

Teenage Cancer Trust, a registered charity, provides life-changing care and support to teenagers and young adults, so they don’t have to face cancer alone.
Following an afternoon on the fairway, participants enjoyed a meal in the Clubhouse, where winners were presented with various prizes, in addition to taking part in an auction and a raffle.
Two of the auction prizes included a hotel/spa break for two at Grey Street Hotel in Newcastle, and a Four Ball Golf Day at Rockliffe Hall Hotel in County Durham.
Managing director of Jennings Motor Group, Nas Khan OBE, said: “We would like to thank everyone who participated in the event, which was a huge success and raised a substantial amount for a very worthy cause.
“As always, the support from people in the North East has been tremendous.”
In February, Jennings Motor Group kick-started fundraising for the charity with an ‘Eat Me Up and Fill Me Up’ promotion for staff. Each member of staff was given a tube of Smarties with the aim to fill them up with 20p pieces, to cover the £12 cost of overnight accommodation for a relative or friend needing to stay at the charity’s Units, based at The Great North Children’s Hospital and The Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
A number of staff have also signed up to take part in this year’s Great North Run, as well as a sponsored abseil, which is due to take place in October.
Sonia Graham, regional fundraiser at Teenage Cancer Trust, said; “The golf day was a great way for Jennings Motor Group, together with other local businesses, to raise vital funds to support young people locally.
“Young people with cancer need specialist nursing and support. Right now, we can only help half of young people with cancer with our world-leading nursing. That’s why our partnership with Jennings Motor Group is so important. Their support will mean that we can help more young people with cancer get the specialised nursing they so desperately need.”
