Dedicated employee receives reward for two decades of loyalty

A member of staff at the Jennings Ford, Mazda and Kia service and parts department in Washington, has been rewarded for his loyalty to the company.
Norman Hunter, 58, from Boldon, South Shields, has worked within the parts department at the Parsons Road dealership, for the past 20 years.
Norman who has more than 42 years’ experience in the motor industry, embarked on an apprenticeship programme after leaving school at the age of 16.
Over the years, he has gained valuable experience and knowledge working at a number of motor dealers across the region.
Two decades ago, Norman joined the service and parts team at the Parsons Road branch in Washington where he has worked his way up the ranks to parts supervisor, a role which entails being responsible for overseeing the busy parts department and team, monitoring and replenishing stock supplies and liaising with both customers and suppliers.
It’s been a double celebration for Norman, who at the time of receiving his loyalty vouchers, was also celebrating the birth of his first grandchild, Lilly Mae Hunter.
“I am over the moon with the loyalty vouchers, they couldn’t have come at a better time with a new addition to the family – it’s really great to have your hard work recognised in such a rewarding way,” said Norman.
The presentation took place at the Washington branch where service advisor, June Appleyard, handed the vouchers to Norman.
Brian Johnston, service manager at the Washington service and parts department, said; “Norman is a dedicated and conscientious member of staff and an asset to the team at Washington.”
