A member of staff at Jennings Mazda in Middlesbrough is on track for future success, having received his first promotion after only five months with the company.
Initially, Jonathan Thomas, 40, from Darlington, joined the Cargo Fleet Lane dealership as a sales executive in August of last year.
Since then, Jonathan’s potential, dedication and enthusiasm hasn’t gone un-noticed by his bosses at the Middlesbrough dealership. In order to progress his career, he was automatically enrolled on an internal Business Management training course.
Warwick Maddison, franchise manager at the Jennings Mazda dealership in Middlesbrough, said; “It was evident at Jonathan’s initial interview that he was a committed and dedicated individual who strived on success.”
Successfully completing a Business Management Training Programme, which involved listening to lectures about finance and insurance, taking part in various role-play activities and enduring a number of written examinations, resulted in Jonathan qualifying for a promotion.
When the vacancy for a business manager arose at the dealership, Jonathan was the perfect candidate for the post.
“I’m delighted with the promotion. It’s great to have been given the opportunity from my employer to further develop my skills,” said Jonathan.
His new role as business manager involves being responsible for all aspects of finance, working as part of the sales team and liaising with existing and potential customers.
Prior to joining Jennings Mazda, Jonathan worked as a sales consultant for Powergen, based in Jarrow and prior to that, spent 14 years in Tenerife as a scuba diving instructor.
