Two ambitious youngsters are on the road to a successful career in motor mechanics and it’s all thanks to JenningsFord.
John Jeffels, 20, from Brotton in Cleveland and Michael Hanif, 19, from Linthorpe in Middlesbrough, are near to completing a three-year Apprenticeship programme at JenningsFord’s Yarm Road dealership in Stockton.
For the past two years, the dedicated duo have been gaining practical ‘hands on’ experience working closely with qualified and experienced technicians within the service department, in addition to attending college on a day release basis.
John who attends Gateshead College, said; “I’ve always wanted to work under the bonnet of motors and when I heard about the light vehicle service and repair Apprenticeship available through Skillnet, I just knew it was right for me.”
Meanwhile Michael attends Middlesbrough College, he said; “It’s great because you’re able to gain invaluable practical experience and at the same time achieve additional qualifications. It’s the best of both worlds.”
With two NVQs already under their belt, the duo are looking forward to completing the third and final level this year, when they will be regarded as fully qualified technicians.
Bob Humphreys, service manager at JenningsFord in Stockton, said; “John and Michael have worked extremely hard. They are both keen and committed individuals who will undoubtedly succeed in the future.”comments powered by
