A local businessman, originally from Pakistan, is appealing to members of the general public to help raise funds for a worthy cause which is very close to his heart.

Nas Khan, managing director of Jennings Motor Group, launched The Emaan Foundation towards the end of September last year, in a bid to raise £120,000 to build a village and provide emergency aid for the thousands of people devastated by the floods in Pakistan.

Celebrating reaching the half way mark with a staggering total of £60K raised to date, Nas is hoping his latest fundraising drive, which includes a raffle to win a brand new motor, will further boost funds.

Nas said; “By purchasing a £50 ticket in the Emaan Foundation Raffle, members of the public will have a one in 300 chance of scooping a brand new 1.2 Ford Ka model, which is a fantastic car and worth more than £9000.

“But the official draw won’t be taking place until all of the 300 tickets have been sold, so there’s still time if any members of the public want to be in with a chance of winning the key to a brand new, reliable and economical motor.”

To purchase a ticket, members of the public can contact any Jennings dealership at Middlesbrough, Stockton, Sunderland, Gateshead or South Shields, or alternatively contact Bev Stephenson on 01642 209113.

The overall aim of the Appeal is to raise £120,000, which will build a village consisting of 60 homes, livestock and a deep tube well for clean drinking water for the people of Rahim Yar Khan, south of Punjab in Pakistan.
