Achieving additional qualifications and receiving a promotion, has fuelled a young and ambitious member of staff at Jennings Ford Direct, to continue studying in the future.
It’s been a double celebration for Danielle Hughes, 23, from Boldon, who has just passed her AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification with flying colours and at the same time received a promotion to assistant accountant at the Newcastle Road dealership in South Shields.
The AAT qualification, which was organised through Kaplan Financial Approach, is a three-year course and involved Danielle working on a day release basis.
At the end of each year, Danielle was required to sit a series of written examinations, which she passed successfully.
Danielle, said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed the course, it has helped enormously towards my everyday responsibilities working as part of the accounts department team at the South Shields branch.
“Being given the opportunity to work towards additional qualifications is fantastic and to receive a promotion, is just brilliant. I’m looking forward to hopefully working towards more qualifications in the future and also looking forward to the fresh challenges ahead in my new role as assistant accountant.”
In her new role, Danielle will continue working as part of the accounts team, reporting directly to the accountant at the South Shields branch.
The next step for Danielle is to complete a three-year degree course through the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Danielle added, “My overall aim is to hopefully embark on a degree through the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the future.”
Danielle started working at the Newcastle Road dealership in 2005 when she was appointed on a part-time basis as a receptionist to cover maternity leave for another member of staff. At the time of being appointed, she had no idea the job would lead to full-time employment, additional qualifications and two promotions.
In addition to working on reception, Danielle started gaining valuable experience and knowledge working in sales administration and the accounts department, where she is currently pursuing her career.
Commenting on Danielle’s success, John Hepple, group accountant, said; “Danielle is an extremely dedicated and committed individual and an asset to the accounts team at South Shields.”comments powered by
