Hard work reaps rewards

A member of staff at JenningsFord has been rewarded with a trip to Germany and it’s all thanks to achieving outstanding customer satisfaction.
Ian Stewart, service manager at JenningsFord in Gateshead, is no stranger to packing his case and jetting off on vacation, courtesy of Ford Motor Company, having over the past ten years, been rewarded with a total of eight trips for his continuous hard work.
Over the past decade, Ian’s hard work has resulted in all expenses paid trips to places such as; Tenerife, New York, Arizona, Barcelona, Rhodes, Majorca and Seville in Spain.
As a result of achieving high standards in Ford’s Customer Viewpoint Fast Start Incentive programme for the first quarter of 2008, Ian was rewarded with a trip to the world’s most challenging racetrack, the Nurburgring in Germany.
Throughout his two-day stay, he experienced the thrills and spills of the 14-mile twisty racetrack with an experienced driver, was able to see the circuit in a helicopter and was wined and dined in some of Germany’s finest restaurants.
Ford’s Customer Viewpoint Fast Start Incentive programme entailed customers automatically receiving an independent questionnaire from Ford Motor Company, regarding the level of service they have received when their car has been serviced at the Eslington Park dealership.
“Achieving customer service is of paramount importance to Jennings and once again, I was delighted and honoured to win a trip through consistently achieving high standards,” said Ian.
“This is a true testimony to the service staff at Gateshead, all of whom have worked extremely hard throughout the course of the year.”
Ian started working in the motor trade when he was 16 as an apprentice technician and has progressed through the different roles of technician, foreman and workshop controller. Ian moved to the Gateshead branch 16 years ago as workshop controller, but within a few months he was promoted to service manager.
In 2003, he transferred to the group’s Middlesbrough supersite for a short period where he was responsible for setting up and overseeing the day-to-day running of the service department, prior to moving back to Gateshead.
