A philanthropic local business man is putting his best foot forward in a bid to raise cash and help younger generations suffering from cancer.
Thomas Bunn, managing director of Laminate Products Direct Ltd, based in Middlesbrough, is taking part in the London Marathon this weekend to raise money for his chosen charity, Children with Cancer UK – a leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against all childhood cancers.
For the second occasion, Jennings Ford, part of the Jennings Motor Group, has stepped in to support Mr Bunn, who is a loyal customer of the group’s Transit Centre based on Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough, with a cheque donation.
Having successfully completed many half marathons around the country in the past, Mr Bunn raised more than £1500 for his chosen charity last year, but this year he is hoping to double that amount.
Thomas said; “This is my first major event and I am very excited about it. Hopefully, with help from business colleagues, such as Jennings Ford, and family and friends I will be able to double the amount I raised last year.”
For many months, Mr Bunn has been following a strict training regime, which has contributed towards increasing his time and distance in order to complete the 26.2 mile marathon on Sunday 26th April.
Alan Bailes, commercial general manager at Jennings Ford’s Transit Centre in Middlesbrough, said; “Over the past decade, Mr Bunn has been a loyal customer having purchased many Ford commercial vehicles from our Middlesbrough dealership.
“As a company committed to supporting the community, charities and organisations we were more than willing to make another donation to such a worthy cause and would like to wish Thomas every success in the event and with his fundraising.” comments powered by
