LOYAL EMPLOYEE TAKES ON NEW ROLE WITHIN JENNINGS' INTERNET SALES CENTRE

A loyal member of staff at Jennings Ford has transferred to another dealership to take on a new role within the group’s busy internet sales department.

Steven Flack, 44, from Yarm, has moved from the group’s Ford Direct site in Middlesbrough, to take on the role of internet sales manager which entails overseeing the internet sales centre based within the group’s Jennings Kia dealership on Parsons Road in Washington.

Initially, the internet department was set up with the aim to operate as a call centre and respond to customer enquiries by filtering potential sales leads to managers across the group’s Ford, Mazda, SEAT and Kia branch network, in addition to the Ford Commercial Centres based at Gateshead and Middlesbrough.

As more people are turning to the internet before making that final purchasing decision and in order to meet demand from customers on a national level, the call centre has diversified into a sales centre where the team is responsible for securing sales and arranging vehicle delivery.

Steven said; “Overseeing the internet sales centre is an excellent opportunity for me and a challenge I am very much looking forward to.

“Advances in technology have allowed customers to do their homework by visiting various websites and doing price comparisons, prior to making a purchasing decision. If the price is right, customers are also prepared to travel the length and breadth of the country in order to secure a deal on a quality vehicle.”

Having worked for the Jennings Motor Group for the past 21 years, the knowledge and experience Steven has gained over the past two decades, in particular with the Ford and SEAT product range, will contribute towards securing and increasing internet sales across the group.

Steven added; “The majority of customers who come through our internet sales centre know exactly which model and specification they want and as a result of our competitive prices and customer service, are confident to commit to a purchase without physically seeing the vehicle first.

To date, the internet sales centre has dealt customers across England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, the most northern being to the Shetland Islands and the most southern to Southampton.

Overseeing the loyal internet sales centre team which consists of three internet sales executives including Andrew Diston, Nichola Brown and Mal Singh, Steven is responsible for the day-to-day running of the department, in addition to increasing sales and achieving monthly and quarterly sales objectives, preparing daily reports, processing internet sales leads and enquiries and ensuring the sales team is up-to-speed with current offers and promotions across the group.

Andrew Diston, 33, from Peterlee, joined the group in 2001 when he was appointed as a sales executive. Later, he transferred to work as a sales executive within the internet sales centre.

Mal Singh, 36, from Fenham, joined the team in 2008 and Nichola Brown, 32 from Sunderland, in 2009.
