Three members of staff at Jennings Ford have been rewarded for their loyalty to the company.
Martin Smark, Stan Parker and Charlie Coates have achieved more than 115 years’ loyalty between them at Jennings Ford’s Bodyshop department on Commercial Road in South Shields.
Martin, 61, from South Shields, is at the top of the loyalty chart having achieved 45 years of loyal service. In 1964, Martin was appointed as a paint sprayer within the bodyshop department. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, Martin had to down tools and instead took up the role of quality controller/valeter.
“It’s a great incentive to have your hard work recognised in such a rewarding way as this, I’m delighted” said Martin.
Meanwhile, Stan and Charlie, also from South Shields, have each achieved 35 years of loyalty with the company.
51-year-old Stan, joined as a paint sprayer and over the years has worked his way up to his current position of estimator/supervisor.
For nearly four decades dedicated Charlie, 51, has worked as a paint sprayer.
Charlie said; “I thoroughly enjoy the job I do which is why I haven’t needed to look elsewhere for alternative employment. I’m happy in my job and the people I work with are very friendly and easy to get on with, which is another bonus to the job.”
The presentation took place when service manager, Brian Johnston, handed the vouchers to the loyal trio, Brian said;
“The majority of staff based at the South Shields bodyshop department are loyal and longstanding. It was a pleasure presenting the loyalty vouchers to Martin, Stan and Charlie all of whom have worked extremely hard over the years.”comments powered by
