A member of staff at Jennings Ford Direct in South Shields has been rewarded for his loyalty to the company.
Hard working, Martyn Tinmouth, 45, from Hutton Henry in County Durham, has clocked twenty years’ loyal service at the Newcastle Road dealership.
The world of motors started for Martyn at the tender age of 17, when he embarked on a three-year apprenticeship programme with the aim to become a qualified mechanic.
Martyn said; “I always liked messing about under the bonnet of cars and when the time came to leave school, I knew I wanted to do something with motors. The only way I was going to achieve my goal to become a mechanic, was to embark on an apprenticeship.”
Following completion of his apprenticeship, Martyn spent two years working towards achieving a higher tech certificate at the former Wearside College in Sunderland.
Later, he took on the role of receptionist within the service department at Jennings Ford Direct. A few years later and he was promoted to warrant administrator. His current role involves submitting warrant claims to Ford Motor Company and liaising with customers to keep them up-to-date with their claims. In addition to these duties, Martyn also spends time at the Group’s bodyshop on Commercial Road where he assists with the processing of authorisation requests.
The presentation took place at the Newcastle Road dealership where Brian Johnston, after sales manager at Jennings Ford Direct in South Shields, handed the vouchers to the loyal employee.
“It’s great to have your hard work recognised in such a rewarding way. I’m delighted. The wife has spent them already!”
