A Mobility Ambassador took time out of his busy schedule in order to assist with an event at Jennings Ford.

Jason Richards, one of only three Ambassadors for Ford Mobility, attended the North East Ford Dealer Motability event, which took place at JenningsFord’s Yarm Road dealership in Stockton.

Ford’s Mobility Ambassadors champion Ford’s Mobility scheme and regularly attend events such as the Motability Roadshow, Motor Show and individual dealership events.

Their role is to help give people first hand assistance and guidance on the Ford range of vehicles, adaptation and the Motability scheme.

By day, Jason works as a chartered engineer and is the British record holder for the 800m. With 18 month old twins he is used to loading everything from racing chairs to car seats and double pushchairs into his spacious Ford S-MAX.

Jason Richards, Ambassador for Ford Mobility said; “This was a fantastic event and it was a pleasure being able to share my experiences and give customers advice and guidance about Ford Mobility.”

Part of an on-going regional press and radio campaign, co-ordinated on behalf of North East Ford Dealers, the recent Motability event was organised at Jennings Ford’s Stockton and Middlesbrough dealerships, in order to build awareness about the benefits of the Motability programme.

Customers eligible to purchase a vehicle through the Motability programme were given professional advice and guidance from fully trained Motability specialists at the dealership, in addition to taking advance of nil advance payment, which was available on selected models.

Everyone who attended the event, which has been hailed a huge success, were able to see the range of Ford vehicles available through the programme, in addition to walking away with a free copy of the ‘Motability Rough Guide’ publication.

A host of other services were also highlighted to customers at the event, including Jennings Ford’s Adaptation Service which specifically caters for individual needs and requirements, in addition to the JenningsFord Home Visit Scheme for those who are unable to visit the dealership in person.

Jill Wilson, group motability specialist based at the Yarm Road dealership in Stockton, said; “The main objectives of the event was to highlight the benefits of Motability, the eligibility criteria for the programme and basically try and get more people on the road to freedom through the scheme.”

“We’re delighted to report a successful event which also attracted new customers to the dealership.”

Before a customer can take advantage of the Motability programme, they need to be in receipt of either the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC of DVLA), War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMA) or currently driving a government vehicle, trike or mini.

As soon as the eligibility has been confirmed they can then take their pick from a number of models currently available across the Ford range, including the all-new Ka, all-new Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, C-MAX, Kuga, Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy.

For more information about the Motability programme, customers can contact Jill Wilson at Stockton on 01642 632200 or Tracy Tobin at Middlesbrough on 01642 240055.
