Motor dealer staff raise a cup for Macmillan Cancer
Posted on 07 Nov 2014
Kind hearted staff at Jennings Ford Direct, part of the award-winning Jennings Motor Group, have raised cash for Macmillan Cancer.
For the second consecutive year, staff at the Newcastle Road dealership in South Shields, took part in the world’s biggest coffee morning and successfully raised £270 for the national charity, which offers invaluable support to people who are diagnosed with cancer.
Members of staff put their culinary skills to the test and prepared a variety of fancy cakes and treats for the event, which involved both staff and customers making a donation for every cup of coffee and treat they had at the dealership’s onsite café.
In addition to raising money from the coffee morning, staff have also been raising additional funds through selling raffle tickets for the charity’s annual autumn raffle.
David Walker, general sales manager at the South Shields-based dealership, said; “Due to the extremely positive response and success last year, staff were keen to take part and do their bit again this year.
“We are absolutely delighted with the amount that has been raised for such a worthy cause.”
The Jennings Ford Direct dealership houses hundreds of nearly-new Ford cars, which are sourced and delivered direct from the manufacturer. Customers can also take advantage of a service and parts department on site at the branch.
