A keen and devoted motorsport enthusiast from Middlesbrough got more than he bargained for when he attended a Rally Sport Event Weekend and walked away with a brand new jacket, courtesy of Jennings Ford.
Avid follower, Malcolm Murray, 56, can vividly remember when he first started watching motorsport on tv.
Malcolm said; “I was only six years old when I started showing an interest in motorsport on tv, but it wasn’t until I was 16 years old when I attended my first motorsport event at Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire.”
“Another vivid memory is the ‘Stirling Moss’ t-shirt my parents bought for me as a small child. I’ve still got all the photographs.”
Over the past four decades, Malcolm claims to have attended literally thousands of motorsport events across the UK, he also claims that his favourite motor above anything else, is the Mark II Ford Escort 1600 GT.
At a recent RS Weekend Event, which took place at Light Water Valley, Malcolm and his son, Chris, 24, visited Jennings Ford’s stand and filled in a simple form to win a Ford RS Racing Jacket, complete with inner-jacket.
“I was over the moon when I was told I had won the jacket, it’s been a long time since I’ve won anything, so it’s great.” Malcolm added.
The presentation took place at the Yarm Road dealership in Stockton, where Jeremy Hogg, sales executive, handed the jacket to Malcolm.
“It’s good to see the jacket going to a true motorsport enthusiast, I’m sure Malcolm will get a lot of pleasure wearing it,” said Jeremy Hogg.
