Never too late to learn

A member of staff at JenningsMazda has been proving it’s not too late to learn after successfully completing a training course with flying colours.
Norman Shepherd, from Chester-le-Street, works as sales controller/business manager at the group’s Riverside Road dealership, just off Wessington Way in Sunderland.
Attending the business manager’s course, which took place at Mazda’s Training Centre in Leeds, involved listening to lectures about finance and insurance, taking part in various role-play and practical activities and enduring a number of written examinations.
Norman said; “Admittedly, it was a bit strange at first because it’s been a few years since I last studied, but I thoroughly enjoyed the course.”
He added; “I found it both informative and extremely interesting.”
Commenting on Norman’s success, Chris Nixon, franchise manager at JenningsMazda in Sunderland, said; “Successfully completing the course and gaining a qualification that is recognized and supported by Mazda, is an excellent achievement.”
The world of motors started more than 25 years ago for Norman when he embarked on an apprenticeship as a mechanic. Over the years, he has worked in a variety of roles for a number of motor dealers across the region, prior to joining JenningsMazda in Sunderland.
