Award-winning Jennings Motor Group has appointed a new manager at its Mitsubishi dealership in Middlesbrough - and he’s no stranger to the popular brand.
Keith Moore, 54, from Sunderland, has taken over the reins as franchise manager at the group’s Cargo Fleet Lane dealership in Teesside.
The latest recruit brings with him more than 37 years’ valuable experience and knowledge, having spent the majority of his career selling quality used cars for a number of Mitsubishi dealerships across the region.

As Mitsubishi prepare to launch the fifth-generation L200 pick-up model, which is scheduled to go on sale in showrooms on 1st September, Keith recalls selling his first model more than three decades ago, he said;
“I can distinctly remember the first L200 model I sold back in 1979 when they were powered by a 1600 petrol engine and only available as a 2-wheel drive. The customer was a plumber by trade and he purchased the vehicle for his business. As a rare petrol commercial vehicle capable of carrying a ton in weight, the model was also popular with milkmen, due to being quiet compared to diesel models.”
It was in 1982 when the diesel model was launched and Keith believes the continued success and longevity of the L200 model range is down to a number of contributing factors, he added;
“Over the years, the practical model has continued to be a popular choice and still remains one of the best four door, double cabs on the market, which is mainly down to its towing capacity and payload, in addition to the L200 model being the only pick-up that can be driven on normal road surfaces in good conditions in 4 wheel drive, towing with a class leading 4090kg combined towing and carrying capacity.”
Delighted with his new appointment with the north east-based motor dealer group, Keith went on to say;
“This is an excellent opportunity and an exciting time for me to be joining the group with the launch of the new L200 model in the pipeline, in addition to the first anniversary of the Jennings Mitsubishi dealership taking place this month.
“I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and to further develop the Mitsubishi brand in the Teesside area and increase both new and used car sales at the dealership.”
Heading a five-strong sales team, Keith’s new role will entail being responsible for the day-to-day running of the dealership, in addition to being responsible for achieving monthly and quarterly sales objectives set out by Mitsubishi and ensuring the highest level of customer service is delivered at all times.
Initially, Keith’s career within the motor industry started after he successfully completed an Apprenticeship with another motor dealer and became a motor vehicle technician. After gaining experience in the service, bodyshop and parts departments, Keith decided it was time for a change and transferred to work within the sales department where he started as a sales executive and worked his way up the ranks from sales executive to business manager, then sales controller and sales manager.
The Jennings Mitsubishi franchise sells the entire range of models including the i-MiEV, Mirage, ASX, Outlander, Outlander PHEV, Shogun and L200, which are on display and available to test drive.
Customers can also take advantage of a number of after sales facilities with an MOT and service, in addition to an accident repair centre and a parts department on the Middlesbrough site.
