On-line sales success results in internet sales team expansion for motor dealer group, Jennings

Jennings Motor Group has expanded its internet sales team, as part of an on-going recruitment drive to cater for on-line sales.

Arran Raine, 27, from Hetton-le-Hole and James Cook, 25, from North Shields, are the latest recruits to join the motor dealer group’s head office in Washington, as internet sales executives.

Initially, the overall objective of the department, which is headed by group internet sales manager, Barry Dunn, was to provide sales leads to managers based at the group’s Ford, Ford Direct, Kia, Mazda, SEAT and Mitsubishi branches across the region.

To meet national demand from customers committing to on-line purchases, the original call centre concept soon diversified into a sales centre with the aim to secure new and used car and commercial vehicle sales.

Recent company expansion following the take-over of Leeds Harley-Davidson and the launch of a new Gateshead-based Harley-Davidson dealership, has resulted in the department also providing an on-line sales service to customers looking to purchase one of the globally recognised iconic motorcycles.

Arran brings with him more than three and a half years’ experience after previously working as a sales advisor for a mobile phone and internet provider.

Arran said: “I was ready for a change and when I found out about the vacancy at Jennings Motor Group, I just knew it was the challenge I was looking for.”

After sitting his GCSEs at Houghton Kepier School, Arran went on to complete a two-year course at Hilton School Campus and became a qualified electrician, but after finding it difficult to secure a job in that particular field, he changed his career path completely and started working on the production line at Nissan.

Meanwhile, motorsport enthusiast James, brings more than four years’ sales experience with him after selling car insurance for a major provider, and prior to that, worked for various retail and call centres.

James left Astley Community High School after he completed his GCSEs and later went on to study ‘A’ Levels at Newcastle College.

Having always had a passion for cars since passing his test at the age of 17, James is delighted to be part of the Washington-based internet sales team at Jennings Motor Group.

He said: “This really is a fantastic opportunity for me to learn new skills and gain additional experience, as well as obtaining valuable knowledge about the wide product range the company has to offer.”
