PANTO STARS HELP CREATE A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED IN NORTH EAST
Posted on 22 Jan 2013
Panto stars from Darlington Civic Theatre took time out of their busy schedule and teamed up with Jennings Motor Group and The Salvation Army to help create a magical Christmas for underprivileged people in the region.
For the past 14 consecutive years, Jennings Motor Group has supported The Salvation Army’s Christmas Present Appeal by using its Ford, Mazda, SEAT and Kia branch network across the region as drop off and collection points for gift donations.
In order to promote this year’s Appeal, Jennings turned to Darlington Civic Theatre for help.
Sleeping Beauty, played by Linda Lusardi and the cast including Sam Kane, Andy Jones and Zoe Birkett, were more than willing to take time out and offer their support to the Salvation Army’s annual Appeal.
Jennings is urging its staff, customers and members of the public to support the Appeal by taking any gifts, including new toys for children, gifts for teenagers and the elderly to any Jennings’ branch which can be found at Yarm Road, Stockton; Cargo Fleet Lane, Middlesbrough; Parsons Road, Washington; Newcastle Road, South Shields and Eslington Park in Gateshead.
Captain Howard Russell of The Salvation Army, said; “We are aware families are really struggling this year. By donating a gift to our Appeal will make a real difference in someone’s life this Christmas.
Last year, the Appeal assisted 6726 individuals with gifts for children, the elderly and housebound, in addition to providing more than 800 food parcels.
Sleeping Beauty will be appearing at Darlington Civic Theatre until 20 January 2013. Anyone who has not yet bought their tickets should telephone Darlington Civic Theatre on 01325 486 555 or visit the website at www.darlingtonarts.co.ukcomments powered by
