Part of an ongoing recruitment drive, Gethin is the third new sales executive - alongside recently recruited Eddie McCartney and Dave Heslop - to join Jennings Motor Group’s Newcastle Road dealership in South Shields.

Gethin said; “I’ve always had an interest in cars and been keen to learn about the sales side of the motor industry, but there just didn’t seem to be any opportunities available, until now that is.

“The job was advertised online and after an interview, I was delighted when it was offered to me.  This is a fantastic opportunity for me and a challenge I am very much looking forward to.”

In his new role, Gethin will be working as part of a 12-strong sales team, where he will be responsible for selling nearly new Ford cars, contributing towards achieving monthly and quarterly sales objectives, liaising with existing and potential customers, in addition to delivering vehicles and completing relevant training courses.

After leaving school with a number of GCSE qualifications under his belt, Gethin went on to study Travel and Tourism at his local college.  For a number of years, he worked as a travel advisor for a major tour operator, prior to transferring to the North East and being promoted to the role of assistant manager and manager.

At the age of 26, Gethin decided he wanted a fresh challenge and left the travel industry to take up a full-time role and gain experience as a customer service advisor at a call centre in Sunderland, prior to joining the sales department at Jennings Ford Direct.

Welcoming Gethin on board, general sales manager, David Walker, said; “Gethin’s appointment is part of an on-going recruitment drive in order to meet the demand from customers for Ford’s wide range of quality approved used cars.

His previous roles have entailed gaining invaluable experience in both customer service and sales, which will go hand in hand in his new role at Jennings Ford Direct.”

Jennings Ford Direct sells quality approved used cars delivered direct from the manufacturer, in addition to offering a number of aftersales facilities, including service, MOT and parts.
