Ringtons’ fleet goes green
Posted on 30 Oct 2008
When local family firm, Ringtons Tea and Coffee, needed to purchase a batch of reliable and economical fleet cars - the greener, eco-friendly option was a must.
Jennings Ford in Gateshead has just delivered a batch of nine Ford Focus ECOnetic Estate models to the Byker-based business, which is renowned for taking high quality tea and coffees and other products to customers’ doors.
Rob Chapman, local business executive based at Jennings Ford’s Eslington Park dealership in Gateshead, said;
“More businesses are considering the greener, eco-friendly models when it comes to purchasing fleet cars.
“When Ringtons initially contacted us about supplying a number of fleet vehicles, they were fully aware of the ECOnetic range of ultra low CO2 models currently available through Ford.”
First to be launched was the Focus ECOnetic model with its 1.6-litre TDCi engine last year, this was followed by the Mondeo 1.8 TDCi model.
Rob went on to say; “The new ECOnetic model range not only gives customers a clearer conscience about the impact they are having on the environment, but it also is an excellent way in which companies can make substantial savings.
“For companies who are reluctant to trust hybrid or electric models but who still want to do their bit for the environment, the Ford EConetic range provides a solution.”
Vicki Johnson, public relations manager for Ringtons, said;
“As part of our green fleet ethos, we wanted to ensure our new vehicles were both economical and ecological.
“Our fleet administrator, Elaine Mercer, recommended Jennings Ford as she was confident they would provide the best service and most reliable, environmentally friendly, fleet of vehicles.”
Vicki continued to say, “As fleet management is such an integral part of the Ringtons doorstep delivery business, we will continue to improve our green fleet ethos by looking into more eco-friendly delivery vans in the near future.
Businesses across the region can look forward to even more savings in November/December when the new ECOnetic Fiesta Verve 1.6 TDCi model will be arriving in showrooms across the region and is currently exempt from road tax.
For more than two decades Jennings Ford has been forging good working relationships with hundreds of companies throughout the region. 1996 saw the launch of Ford’s Business Centres across the nation, with the objective to further increase fleet business and offer packages to meet individual needs and demands within the business community, not only in the North East but also on a national scale.
