Sales are converted to cash for charity

Sales generated at Jennings Ford branches across the region have been raising cash for a national charity.
When Ford Motor Company signed up to BEN, the automotive industry charity which provides care and support to employees and their dependants in time of need, they contacted Ford dealers nationwide to see who would be willing to participate.
Jennings Ford’s dealerships at Yarm Road, Stockton; Cargo Fleet Lane, Middlesbrough, Riverside Road, Sunderland and Eslington Park in Gateshead, were more than willing to assist by agreeing to make a donation for every new car and commercial vehicle sold during the third quarter of 2009.
Despite the doom and gloom of the economy, the pennies and the sales soon added up and at the end of the allocated three month period, the four dealerships managed to contribute just under £380 towards Ford’s chosen charity.
Nas Khan, managing director of Jennings Motor Group, said; “We were more than willing to assist Ford Motor Company by agreeing to make a donation for every new car and commercial vehicle sold throughout the third quarter of last year.”
Nas added; “Sales generated were as a result of customers taking advantage of the scrappage scheme and the popular Ford Fiesta continuing to top the sales chart.”
BEN was founded in 1905 by Arthur Wilson (1858-1945), a leading advertising agent in the motor and cycle industries to provide care and support for employees and their dependants. The charity offers financial, emotional and practical support to more than 15,000 men, women and children who have a connection with the automotive sector.
