Sales are on the up at Jennings Ford in Gateshead as staff at the dealership prepare for the imminent arrival of the new March registration plate change.

The Eslington Park dealership has reported a significant increase in sales, compared to the same period last year.

Barry Fearon, sales manager at Jennings Ford’s Gateshead said; “Sales at the dealership have doubled compared to last year. At the end of the day, people are looking for affordable and economical products, which is available within the Ford new car range.

“The arrival of the all-new Fiesta has certainly had an impact on sales for the new March registration and contributed towards sales success.”

The all-new Ford Fiesta, declared Best Supermini by What Car? is topping the new car sales chart at the dealership.

Officially launched last month, the all-new Fiesta offers an extensive range of six powertrains and a Titanium X Series. The latest fuel efficient model to join the Ford family features a sharper design and a host of exclusive technology features, with prices starting at £9795.

Customers can choose from 100PS and 125PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engines, 80PS 1.0-litre petrol engines with direct-injection and Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing, a 75PS 1.5-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine with optimised fuel injection, low friction piston coatings and a variable pressure oil pump.

In addition, a 95PS 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine, producing 200Nm of torque, a 105PS 1.6-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine or a 60PS and 82PS 1.25-litre petrol engines are also available.

The new Fiesta also boasts an Auto-Start-Stop system, which automatically shuts down the engine when the vehicle is idle and restarts the engine when the driver wants to move off, and is available in the 1.0-litre EcoBoost, 1.0-litre petrol and 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi ECOnetic Technology powertrains.

New chassis and suspension components have been developed to improve the ride and quality and refinement of the new Fiesta and tuned the Ford Electronic Power Assisted Steering system.

For peace of mind motoring, the new Fiesta’s package of leading Ford driver assistance and safety features includes MyKey, a segment-first technology that allows parents to encourage safer driving and limit their teenager’s exposure to risk at the wheel, as well as in-car connectivity system SYNC.

SYNC features Emergency Assistance that directly connects the vehicle occupants to local emergency services operators after an accident.

New to the Fiesta and available as part of an optional Driver Assistance pack (including rear parking sensors and powerfold mirrors) is the first-in-class technology Active City Stop, a system which has been well received in the Focus and designed to help drivers avoid low speed collisions.

Customers opting for the Titanium X model can take advantage of additional features such as the Keyfree system and partial leather as standard.

Other models in the new car Ford model line-up include the Ka, Focus, C-MAX, Mondeo, S-MAX and Kuga.
