Carl originally served his time as an Apprentice motor vehicle technician after he completed his GCSEs at Fyndoune Community College in Sacriston and embarked on a four-year Apprenticeship, which also entailed working towards a BTEC qualification.

He spent a year gaining valuable experience as a motor vehicle technician, but for the past 10 years he has been working in retail sales, until he decided he wanted to work in the motor industry again.

Carl said; “Although I have gained experience and knowledge in sales, working with cars is my forte and I am delighted to have been given this excellent opportunity and to be working in the motor industry once again.”

Over the coming months, Carl is expected to complete a number of bespoke training courses at Kia’s Nottingham-based training centre, which over time, will see him become a fully approved Kia motor vehicle technician.

June Appleyard, service manager at Jennings Kia in Washington, said; “We are delighted to welcome Carl on board.  His recent appointment is part of an on-going recruitment drive in order to cater for the demand in customers needing service and MOTs carried out on their vehicles.”
