Staff raise cash ahead of Red Nose Day

Kind-hearted members of staff at Jennings have kick-started an early fundraising initiative for Red Nose Day which has already raised £162.
Staff at the Ford and Mazda service department on Parsons Road in Washington and the group’s Ford Direct dealership on Newcastle Road in South Shields, have teamed up and organised a raffle which has raised £162 within a week of tickets going on sale.
Organisers, June Appleyard and Jade Tiffin, service advisors based at the Parsons Road branch in Washington, co-ordinated and sourced prizes for the raffle.
June said; “We wanted to do our bit for Red Nose Day and came up with the idea of organising a raffle.
“We’ve been amazed and delighted with the response and generosity received from both staff and customers alike. The tickets are literally selling like hot cakes!”
Red Nose Day doesn’t officially take place until Friday 18th March, but staff are hoping by that time to have doubled, or even trebled the fundraising total.
June added; “It would be fantastic if we could treble the amount raised as it’s all for a very worthy cause.”
Raffle tickets cost £2 and prizes up for grabs include; a mountain bike, a luxury Thorntons chocolate basket, a remote control Ford Focus model car, a free MOT test, £15 worth of M&S vouchers, a free car valet and a box of Thorntons Chocolates.
This isn’t the first time staff at Jennings have raised money for charity, for the past six years they have also raised cash for Cancer Research.
