Staff take a step back in time

Staff at one of the region’s longest established main Ford dealers, Jennings, took a step back in time recently and it was all in a bid to promote the company’s latest press advertising, radio, direct mail and pr campaign.

When Jennings Ford decided they wanted to inject a little nostalgia into a fresh advertising campaign for the third quarter of 2009, they were keen to promote the fact that they have been providing a second to none service to people of the North East for more than nine decades.

In addition to this, they also wanted to highlight in the campaign that amidst all of the local and national changes, achievements and historical events worldwide over the past ninety years, Jennings Ford has continued to provide the same service, choice, quality, sales and aftersales service.

The ‘Still No.1 – 90 Years On’ campaign which was launched at the beginning of July and will run until the end of September, is proving to be a huge success having already boosted sales for the registration plate change in September.

In order to promote the campaign and deliver the message across the North East, a press, radio, direct mail and pr campaign is scheduled to run throughout the quarter three period.

The colourful press adverts which are running in regional press incorporate various images highlighting significant events and model images over the decades and the radio campaign reflects similar memorable iconic sound bites from history.

As part of the pr campaign, employees Louise Ruffell, service/bodyshop advisor and Ivan Kent, bodyshop estimator/controller based at the group’s Eslington Park dealership in Gateshead, donned clothing to reflect the era when JenningsFord was first established and posed for numerous photographs on Newcastle’s Quayside.

Nas Khan, managing director for Jennings Ford, said; “We are immensely proud to be one of the region’s longest established main Ford dealers. Having officially opened our doors to the public in 1917, it was important that this message was communicated in the campaign.”

Nas added; “The north-east, UK and indeed the world has changed so much since Jennings sold its first car over 90 years ago, but one thing hasn’t changed – we still and will continue to provide the highest level of service and quality products to our customers.”

Since opening its first showroom in Morpeth in 1917, Jennings Ford now operates five Ford dealers which are located at Gateshead, Sunderland, South Shields, Stockton and Middlesbrough. In addition the company also boasts three Ford Commercial Sales Centres which can be found at Gateshead, Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

Jennings Ford prides itself on providing the highest possible standard of customer service and over the past 15 years, has been awarded Ford’s most prestigious award for customer satisfaction, ‘The Chairman’s Award’, on 13 separate occasions.
