Training leads to promotion for Alan

Successfully completing a training course has steered a member of staff at Jennings Ford towards his first promotion with the company.

Alan Dodds, 36, from Billingham, has been promoted to business manager at the group’s Cargo Fleet Lane dealership in Middlesbrough.

Prior to taking on the new role, Alan had to successfully complete an intensive training course, organised by Ford Motor Company. The course involved listening to lectures about finance and insurance, taking part in various role-play and practical activities and enduring a number of theory and practical examinations.

“I’m delighted with the promotion, it is an excellent challenge for me and one I am very much looking forward to,” said Alan.

His new role as business manager will see committed and conscientious Alan being responsible for all aspects of finance, contributing towards achieving quarterly sales objectives set out by Ford Motor Company, in addition to working alongside sales manager, Colin Massey, and assisting with the day-to-day running of the branch.

Alan started working for JenningsFord in 2004, when he was appointed as a sales executive at the same branch. Over the years, he has been building good working relationships with both colleagues and customers alike.

Colin Massey, sales manager at the Jennings Ford branch in Middlesbrough, said; “Successfully completing the course and achieving a qualification recognised by Ford Motor Company, is an excellent achievement. This, combined with Alan’s continuous hard work and commitment over the years, made him the ideal candidate for the position of business manager.”

Prior to being appointed at JenningsFord, Alan spent eight years working as a quality controller at Nastech based in Peterlee.
