Transfer for top trainee

A transfer to another dealership was on the cards for a young and ambitious employee of Jennings Ford.
Tony Puntin, 20, from Harlow Green in Gateshead, has transferred from the group’s Eslington Park dealership in Gateshead, to further progress his career in mechanics at the Parsons Road service department based in Washington.
Prior to the move to Washington, Tony successfully completed a Master Apprenticeship Programme, which involved spending three years gaining practical ‘hands-on’ experience and working closely with qualified and experienced technicians within the service department at the Gateshead dealership.
He also developed the ability to work using his own initiative and as part of a team, in addition to attending college on a block release basis where he gained recognised qualifications.
“The Apprenticeship Programme was the perfect career move for me, it was great being able to gain both practical and theory experience and at the same time achieve nationally recognised qualifications,” said Tony.
Tony added; “Transferring to Washington will enable me to further progress my career, which is a great opportunity for me and one I am very much looking forward to.”
Tony’s continuous hard work resulted in him being placed in Ford’s national Top Ten Apprenticeship league table towards the end of last year.
Alan Davison, service manager at the department in Washington, said; “We’re delighted to welcome Tony on board. The experience he has gained throughout his Apprenticeship will go hand in hand in his role of technician at the service department in Washington.”
