A youngster, from Northumberland, has been fuelled with ambition to work within the motor industry - and it’s all thanks to a two-week work experience placement at Jennings Ford Direct in South Shields.
14-year-old, Jeremy Turner, a Year 10 pupil at the King Edward VI High School in Morpeth, has been gaining valuable experience working within the busy sales department at the Newcastle Road dealership.
The added bonus for Jeremy, who, in addition to learning about procedures and systems at the dealership, also got to spend time with his step dad, Peter Nesbitt, who has worked as a sales executive at the branch, for the past three years.
Currently working towards his GCSE qualifications, Jeremy’s recent taste of full-time employment through the work experience programme at JenningsFord Direct, has steered him towards a job as a business manager, a role which entails being responsible for all aspects of finance and tailoring packages in order to meet the needs of individual customers.
Jeremy said; “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the time I’ve spent at the dealership. It has given me an insight into all aspects of a busy sales environment, it’s been great.”
David Walker, general sales manager at the JenningsFord Direct dealership, said; “We were delighted to have Jeremy for his work experience. He is a very keen and ambitious youngster who is willing to learn.”
