Construction work, which is expected to take up to seven months to complete, will see the existing Cargo Fleet Lane dealership being transformed into a prestigious flagship Ford Store – the only one of its kind to be launched in Teesside, and one of 68 currently in operation across the UK.
Showcasing Ford’s collection of premium models, including the Vignale range, iconic Mustang, and performance models such as the Focus RS, the new dealership will also offer customers a completely new and unique buying experience, delivered by a fully trained team of dedicated customer managers.
Appointed to design and project manage the development is Washington-based Focus Architecture + Surveying, who have worked closely with the motor dealer group on a number of successful projects in the past, including the interior and exterior refurbishments of the company’s SEAT and Mazda franchises in Middlesbrough, a new Kia and Mazda branch in Sunderland, and a Harley-Davidson® dealership in Gateshead.
Managing director of Jennings Motor Group, Nas Khan OBE, said; “We are delighted to be working on another project with the professional team at Focus Architecture + Surveying, and to announce that work is due to start on site at Middlesbrough, which will see the transformation of the existing Ford branch into a highly prestigious Ford Store, where customers will be given the opportunity to experience and enjoy a more immersive and interactive sales experience.
“These are very busy, but extremely exciting times for the company with a number of future expansion and refurbishment plans in the pipeline for other dealerships across the group.”
The newly constructed showroom will consist of a 3,500sqft extension to the existing site, in addition to expanding the layout, which currently accommodates up to a 5-vehicle display, into a more spacious 11-vehicle dealership.
Lee Sanderson, director at Focus Architecture + Surveying, said; “The development has been designed with the new Ford Store standards to create a modern 21st century motor retail experience for customers by being more personalised and interactive.
“Located on an already prominent site facing the A66, the new Jennings Ford Store will be a fresh, engaging retail experience for customers, in addition to being a positive addition to the area.”
Throughout the programme of building works, measures have been put in place to ensure minimum disruption to customers.
Nas added; “We would like to highlight to our customers that during the seven-month construction process and programme of works, the company has measures in place to ensure minimum disruption to the day-to-day products, services and facilities we provide, so it will be business as usual.”
Jennings Ford officially opened its Middlesbrough-based dealership in 2000. The Cargo Fleet Lane supersite also operates a Ford Transit Centre, a Used Van Centre, in addition to SEAT, and Mazda franchises.
Customers who purchase a new or quality used vehicle at the supersite in Middlesbrough, also benefit from a range of aftersales facilities, including service, MOT, accident repair, and parts and accessories.
Jennings Motor Group also operates Ford dealerships in Stockton and Gateshead, in addition to Kia, Mazda and SEAT franchises, Harley-Davidson® dealerships, a Used Car Outlet, and a Subway store.
