Having been sat idle for 25 years, more than 15 litres of blush grey paint were used to ensure the 600 matched the colour originally used. The interior features 50 metres of exclusive houndstooth fabric, that SEAT’s Head of Colour and Trim, Jordi Font commented “an allegory of the famous houndstooth pattern in black and white that echoes a time past.”
Produced under a licence from Fiat, the SEAT 600 was built for 15 years with an impressive 800,000 units sold. As part of a project between Fiat, six Spanish banks and the Spanish Institute of Industry, the SEAT 600 played a vital part in the growth of the economy following slow progress after the Spanish Civil war. Powered by a 663cc 4-speed manual engine, the SEAT 600 was rear wheel drive and produced 19hp.
