Based in SEAT’s heartland of Catalonia, the Autodromo de Sitges-Terramar was racetrack built in the 1920s. Long since abandoned the location was the chosen by SEAT to launch the Cupra brand in February 2018.

SEAT has refused to comment on news of the Cupra Terramar being registered. A spokesman said, “We’ve no comment to make on trademark applications, which are made all the time for a number of operational reasons”.

Previously SEAT has confirmed that a new coupe model will be joining the SUV range when it expands in 2020. Dr Matthias Rabe, Research and Development manager commented “Our CUV will be Leon-sized. Quite high, coupe-like and quite sporty. That car as a Cupra works very well, too”.
