Flying high with fundraising for GNAAS

With the end of 2017 fast approaching, staff at Jennings Motor Group are pulling out all the stops to raise as much money for the company’s nominated charity, the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

This is the second consecutive year, kind hearted staff across the motor dealer group’s Ford, Ford Direct, Kia, Mazda and SEAT branches, alongside staff at the company’s Harley-Davidson dealerships and Subway store, have participated in a number of on-going fundraising activities and events.  In addition to this, the company has also given donations, including a brand new Kia Rio for last year’s annual car raffle, and a new Kia Sportage model this year.

The most recent fundraising event took place at the group’s Gateshead Harley-Davidson® dealership when staff decided to use an event organised to promote the new 2018 range, to help boost funds and spread the word about the GNAAS.  The event was hailed a huge success and more than £300 raised thanks to donations from both staff and customers.

Graham Pickering MBE chief executive at GNAAS, said: “Thanks to everyone at Jennings and all their customers for getting behind our cause with such dedication.  We rely on this kind of generosity to survive.”

Throughout November and December, a number of other fundraising activities are scheduled to take place across Jennings Motor Group’s branch network, in addition to the charity’s car raffle draw which will see a lucky member of the public driving away in a brand new Kia Sportage, supplied by Jennings Kia.

Nas Khan OBE, managing director of Jennings Motor Group, said; “There’s been quite a variety of fundraising activities taking place throughout the year, with everything from a sponsored weight loss competition, staff taking part in the Great North Run and bake-offs to auctions, raffles and tombolas.

“And we’ve still got plenty of other activities planned for the remainder of 2017, as well as the official car raffle draw.”

Raffle tickets to win a brand new Kia Sportage are £1 each and are still available to purchase online by visiting, or by contacting 01325 487263.  The closing date for entries is November 7 2017 and the raffle will be drawn on December 1 2017.

Last year, the charity’s car raffle raised a staggering £125,000.

Nas added; “The car raffle will soon be coming to a close, so we’re urging members of the public who want to contribute to charity and be in with a chance of winning a brand new Kia Sportage, to purchase a ticket as soon as possible.

“It’s for a fantastic cause and you could be driving away in a brand new motor in time for Christmas.”

The fourth generation Kia Sportage 1.6 GDi Level 2 model is worth £20,750. Launched in February, the Sportage is the most popular model in the range, and offers an attractive interior and exterior design, a host of advanced technology features and outstanding quality.”

GNAAS operates three helicopters 365 days a year across its bases at Durham Tees Valley Airport and Langwathby, near Penrith, Cumbria.  Last year it responded to 1042 call-outs.
