Following on from the launch of the all new Ford Focus in 2014 Ford has confirm that a special RS version with be entering production in 2015. First launched as a brand by Ford in 1968 and last seen in 2009, the RS will feature all the performance and handling capabilities that are expected from a Ford performance car.

Caught during testing on the legendary Nurburgring in Germany key features include signature RS twin rear exhausts and a meaty restyled front bumper. The new Ford Focus RS will be one of 12 new performance cars to be produced by Ford’s new Performance Team by 2020 allowing it to produce cars quickly and access more markets worldwide.

With a reported 2.3l 350bhp turbo charged engine the all new Ford Focus RS will have plenty of muscle giving it the expected RS performance. Adding to the announcement Raj Nair, vice president of global product development at Ford commented “To earn the RS badge, the vehicle has to be a no-compromise driver’s car that can deliver exceptional performance on the track when required while providing excellent every day driving”. The introduction of the One Ford concept of having a single design of cars throughout worldwide markets will lead to a single edition allowing Ford to reduce production costs, increase reliability and increase developments of future vehicles.

No pricing plan has been confirmed yet by Ford for the launch of the Ford Focus RS but it is expected to come in at under £30,000. More information about the new Ford Focus RS will be release in the coming months – with Jennings Motor Group publishing it as soon as we get it.
