Ford Edge ST set for US market

Since its launch in both the European and US markets, the Ford Edge has impressed both the motor industry and customers alike. Taking many by surprise the North American market is set to see a ST edition launched in 2019.

Revealed at the world famous Detroit Motor Show, the Ford Edge ST is set to be powered by a finely tuned 2.7l twin turbo EcoBoost engine that will produce a mouth-watering 335bhp. With 515Nm of torque, the V6 petrol engine will be paired to a eight-speed automatic gearbox with all-wheel-drive as standard. With the addition of a Sport Mode and altered automatic transition, the set up will include an improved gear box and tougher engine braking. Stiffer suspension, improved bodywork and 21” alloy wheels, the Edge ST will continue Ford’s theme of including muscular exhausts.
Looking inside the Ford Edge ST, it is set to include the latest Ford SYNC 3 technology. With Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa, it will also feature a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot. Other technology will include blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, auto braking and post-collision braking. A 12 speaker B&O auto system will provide crystal clear audio. Prices are yet to officially announce by Ford, but are expected to be around the $40,000 mark in North America.
