Ford state that it should only be used on a track, the same requirements as the existing ESP mode. An aluminium lever is installed by the existing gearstick and works with the anti-lock brakes and all-wheel drive. When the level is pulled, the rear wheels lock to create a ‘rally style’ drift. On sale in America for $999, the installation does not affect any outstanding warranty. Speaking about the new Dift Stick Block commented “I think it’s really cool that Ford Performance is offering customers a way to create large-angle drifts in the Focus RS”.
