Raising the ride height by 23mm, adding roof rails, muscular bumpers, black wheel arch moulds and black front grille, the KA+ Active has a tough look. The interior features unique ‘Active’ embossing on scuff plates. Bespoke steering wheel and seat material help the KA+ Active standout from the crowd. Protection from the outdoor dirt and mud is helped with all-weather mats.
Interior specification has yet to be officially announced by Ford. Latest technology including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a touchscreen information system is set to be available. Other features may include cruise control, automatic headlights and rain sensing wipers.
A new 1.2l engine is set to be added that will be up to 10% more powerful than the current KA+ offering. A choice of 69bhp and 84bhp petrol engines, will be joined by a new diesel engine..
Commenting about the impending launch of the Ford KA+, Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service said “Last year Ford sold more than 200,000 SUVs in Europe for the first time, and demand for SUV and crossover models has never been higher. Our new Ford KA+ Active model will this year make the crossover affordable to even greater numbers of customers, with aspirational styling, sophisticated technologies customers would expect to see in much more expensive cars”.
This year is also set to see the Ford Fiesta Active launched, as well as an Active version of the next generation Ford Focus.
