Ford registers ‘Energi’ name ahead of new launches
Following on from a recent announced from Ford Motor Company that a range of a full electric and hybrid models are set to be introduced a new tradename has been registered. Re-registering the signature ‘Energi’, the name is set to be included with new models that include an electric powertrain.

The pending trademark application includes the branding of Kuga, Transit, Focus and Explorer ‘Energi’ versions. Covering the European markets, it suggests that the UK is set for an increase in the Ford Hybrid range.
Previously seen in mainland Europe as part of a Ford C-Max Hybrid, the first petrol-electric Energi versions available are set to be for the Focus, Kuga and Transit. A hybrid Mustang has been mooted, but is expected to be released in the US market first.
