Jennings Kia sets the wheels in motion for Council’s Cycling event

Jennings Kia, part of the multi-award winning Jennings Motor Group, is wheeling in support for Stockton Borough Council’s forthcoming annual Cycling Festival.
The group’s Concorde Way dealership has teamed up with the council after agreeing to donate the use of nine models from the Kia range as support vehicles for the event - which is scheduled to take place on Friday 14 through to and including Sunday 16 July.

In addition to providing the support vehicles, the dealership will also be displaying a variety of Kia models at various locations throughout the course of the weekend.
Steven Flack, Franchise Manager at the Stockton-based dealership, said; “As a company we are regularly involved with and heavily committed to supporting local events within the community, and we were delighted when the Leisure and Sports Development team got in touch to see if we could help out.
“The new partnership has enabled us to form a good working relationship with the team and we look forward to further strengthening this with our involvement in events and sponsorship opportunities in the future.”
To launch the new partnership with Jennings Kia and to help promote the forthcoming Cycling Festival, Director of Culture, Events and Leisure, Reuben Kench, who is also taking part in this year’s cycling activities, paid a visit to the Stockton-based Jennings Kia dealership to see one of the branded vehicles already prepared for the event.
Reuben Kench, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Director of Culture, Events and Leisure, said: “We’re delighted to have Jennings Kia on board as a major supporter of the Stockton Cycling Festival and we’re looking forward to working closely with them.
“It was great to visit the dealership and view the range of support vehicles that they have kindly donated for use across the festival weekend. There’s going to be a whole host of cycling fun and activities taking place that are suitable for all ages and members of the family so I’d really encourage everyone to come down to Stockton between Friday 14 and Sunday 16 July to get involved in what will be a first class celebration of all things cycling.”
This is the 7th consecutive year the free, three-day event, which offers a host of activities for cyclist fans of all ages, has taken place in Stockton.
Residents and visitors alike are invited to experience an amazing festival of sporting theatre.
To mark the start of the festival fun, on Friday 14 July, elite cyclists will race around a unique closed-road – cycling which forms part of the British Cycling HSBC UK National Circuit Series.
Saturday 15 July will see Stockton Supportive take centre stage with cyclists of all abilities taking on challenges ranging from 36 to 106 miles.
The Family Festival Day Finale will take place on Sunday 16 July bringing everything to a close with the Stockton Grand Prix. The teams accompanied by Jennings Kia support vehicles will sweep through villages in the north of the Borough before returning to a hectic sprint finish.
The ever popular Ride Stockton will also be taking place on Sunday offering a fun, family cycle ride that is open to all ages and abilities.
This year also marks the arrival of the Stockton Extreme Bike Battle, which is a new addition to the Family Festival Day. Six of the best stunt riders in the UK will battle it out with some major adrenalin-fuelled moves in pursuit of the ‘King of the Extreme Bike Battle’ crown.comments powered by
