Kia ProCeed GT 2019 triumphs in review
Ahead of the UK launch of the New Kia ProCeed GT, it has been put through its paces by leading motoring publication Autoexpress.co.uk. Lookers, the new name for Jennings, takes a look at what can be expected and how the new Kia ProCeed GT scored.
Lower ride height
Sitting 5mm lower than the current hatch and estate versions, the New Kia ProCeed features all-round independent suspension, while the GT gets softer anti-roll bars and stiffer springs. Autoexpress.co.uk commented, “It works because there’s a nice mix of the warm hatch and comfortable grand-tourer in the way the ProCeed GT tackles corners and bumps; there’s little body roll, loads of grip and the ride is firm but cushioned enough and never crashy”.
Set to be available in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options, the New Kia ProCeed GT will offer up to 201bhp. The petrol options will be 1.4l turbo petrol 138bhp and diesel with options of 1.6l 134bhp or 1.6 turbo with 201bhp.
Scoring an impressive four out of five, the New Kia ProCeed GT was complemented by Autoexpress.co.uk. It added “The new Kia ProCeed is an interestingly styled range-topper for the ultra-conventional Ceed range. It’s good looking, well made, pretty practical and has its fair share of desirability. The warm GT model shouldn’t be viewed as anything other than being a warm grand tourer, because it’s no cut-price Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 - but that’s no bad thing”.
