Limited edition Mazda MX-5 Z-Sport revealed

Limited to a production run of just 300 units, Mazda has revealed that a special MX-5 will arrive in the UK next year. Previously available on the last generation of the world best-selling roadster, the latest Z-Sport will be based on the current range-topping Sport-Nav.

Set to feature the current 2.0l Skyactive-G 158bhp engine with 200Nm of torque, it will have a top speed of 133mph and a 0-62mph time of 7.1 seconds. Fuel efficiency is claimed to be 40.9mpg on a combined cycle.
Visual amends are set to include 17” black BBS alloy wheels, grey metallic paint and an exclusive cherry red roof. Performance is upgraded thanks to limited-slip differential, strut brace to improve handling, exclusive Z-Sport floor mats and a numbered plaque highlighting the limited-edition position. Further specification will be based on the Sport Nav trim and include keyless entry, LED headlights, rear parking sensors, 7” colour touchscreen and cruise control.
Speaking about the impending launch of the Mazda MX-5 Z-Sport, managing director of Mazda UK, Jeremy Thomson commented “We’ve had a long tradition of producing distinctive limited-edition MX-5s that allow customers to drive a sports car with stand-out looks and enhanced equipment, and the new Z-Sport is one of the best yet.” He went on to add “The stunning combination of the cherry red roof and Machine Grey Metallic paint make this one of the most exclusive looking MX-5s we’ve ever offered and I’m sure it will be a very popular choice when it arrives in dealerships next March.”
