To celebrate 25 years of the world’s best-selling sports car, Mazda have launched a special 25th Anniversary of the Mazda MX-5. Since its launch at the 1989 Chicago Motorshow over 900,000 MX-5’s have been sold worldwide from the three different variations of the legendary car.
Limited to 1,000 units worldwide, the Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition will have 750 units available to UK customers from 1 August 2014. The 2.0l engine is packed with 160PS and 6 speed manual gearbox gives the MX-5 special edition a 0-62mph time of under 8 seconds and a top speed of 146mph. Finished in unique Soul Red Metallic paint, the appearance is completed with 17” Dark Gunmetal alloy wheels, rear diffuser and chrome exhaust pipe.
The interior is instantly identified as the 25th Anniversary Special Edition due to the contrasting red seat, steering wheel, gearshift and handbrake stitching. Added to this is the 25th Anniversary logo embossed on the head rests and the individually hand painted Dark Red dashboard panel
Unique 25th Anniversary specification includes a 6.1” touch screen Mazda Navigation System that has been designed by Alpine. The high resolution system includes European mapping for 46 countries, Bluetooth phone connectivity, integrated CD/DVD and USB connectivity for mobile music devices.
